Michal Palzewicz (cello) a native of Poland began his musical training at the age of seven. When he was seventeen years old, with his friends, he founded the Elsner String Quartet. As a member of his group Michal studied with many world-renowned quartets including the Amadeus String Quartet. The Elsners went on to become the quartet-in-residence at the Britten-Pears School, Suffolk, England. After winning the European Young Concert Artists Competition in Leipzig the Elsner quartet was enthusiastically invited to the Manhattan School of Music for a full scholarship. During this time they performed at many prestigious venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Merkin Concert Hall while continuing to play in Europe as well. Palzewicz has a versatile style of playing which he attributes to his many wonderful teachers and coaches, which include the members of the Amadeus String Quartet, David Soyer, Michael Tree, Hugh Maguire, Robert Mann, Pinchas Zuckerman, and Isidore Cohen.
